Membership

The Green Grid is a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems. In furtherance of its mission, The Green Grid is focused on:

• Defining meaningful, user-centric models and metrics
• Developing standards, measurement methods, processes and new technologies to improve data center performance against the defined metrics
• Promoting the adoption of energy efficient standards, processes, measurements and technologies

Membership in The Green Grid is your key to participating with fellow industry stakeholders in the quest to improve overall data center energy efficiencies. The organization’s working focus on research, standards writing, published studies and continuing education needs your input. By joining The Green Grid, you’ll help influence both developers and end users of data center technology. There are two ways to join: as a General Member or as a Contributor Member. Which level of membership is right for you will depend on how much influence your company wants to have in driving the mission of the organization.

Member Benefits

There are three ways to join: as a Contributor Member, General Member, or an Associate Member. Which level of membership is right for you will depend on how much influence your organization wants to have in driving the mission of the organization.

Contributor Membership

Contributor Members provide the highest level of input into the organization's work, including:

• Participating in any committee or work group, with the option to serve in an elected chair or vice chair role
• Voting rights in the Technical Committee, Liaison Committee, Communications Committee and/or associated work groups
• Participating in the development and creation of technical proposals and specifications

Contributor Members also receive all General Membership benefits.

General Membership

General Members assist in the development of the organization's work, and receive the following benefits:

• Attending and participating in all General Meetings of The Green Grid
• Reviewing and commenting on specifications and guidelines prior to adoption by The Green Grid
• Entering the members-only Web site with exclusive, early access to documents before they are published
• Accessing support documentation and materials concerning The Green Grid specifications, test suites and IP licensing
• Participating in The Green Grid’s global expansion initiatives
• Attending and participating in members-only webcasts during which The Green Grid Technical Committee representatives preview and discuss technical documentation, such as white papers and market studies, roadmaps and more
• Participating in The Green Grid Members Discussion Forum
• Including your company name in the members list on The Green Grid Web site and in other promotional materials
• Promoting membership with exclusive use of The Green Grid Member logo, the Tradeshow in a Box program and select media relations activities

Associate Membership

Associate Memberships are designed for government agencies and academic institutions that want to provide input to the organization’s findings and recommendations. Associate members receive all of the same benefits of General Members with the exception of reviewing and commenting on specifications and guidelines prior to adoption by The Green Grid.
